Lots of Updates!

I guess I should start with updates from the doctor today. I had my 38 week appointment and everything is moving along just fine. I am dilated around 2 cm (could be a little more) and 60% effaced. Emma didn't move any further down this week, so she is still sitting at -1. The doctor said unfortunately there are no "magic numbers" as when things could get moving. My water could break tonight, or it could still be 2 weeks. So we will just have to wait. I am just happy that there was progress made from last week to this week! Here is a 38 week belly pic!

Yesterday, I got to meet Matt and Jessica's new little one, Sophia Jane. She is absolutely precious. All 3 are doing well and glad to be home and able to sleep in their own beds. (Matt had a warning for Robert about the chair he would be sleeping in at the hospital!) I spent so much of my time holding Sophia, that I didn't take any pictures. Here are a couple that Jessica had on her blog. Jessica and I can't wait to have our little girls meet!

And here is a picture of the picture frame I made for Jessica. She will replace the blank paper with black and white pictures of Sophia.

Here SHE is!

Sophia Jane is here! Matt and Jessica welcomed their new daughter into the world a little after 1 this morning! She weighed in at 5 lbs 12 onces and is 18.5 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing well. I can't wait to meet her! And I am so excited for Sophia and Emma to be able to grow up together!
Congratulations Matt and Jessica! Robert and I are so happy for you guys!

Baby Bryson is on the Way!

Baby Bryson surprised us all and decided to come a little early. We actually had Jessica's shower today and during the shower Jessica was feeling some things she just wasn't sure about. She ended up going to the hospital and it turns out that her water broke. When I talked to her at about 9:30, she said that she is dilated to 3cm and the doctors think the baby could come later tonight or tomorrow. They also said that even though she is early (due June 1) the baby shouldn't have to go to the NICU, which of course made Jessica feel better. I will keep everyone posted!

37 Week Appointment

Hey everyone! I had my 37 (almost 38) week appointment today. The verdict is that I am not dilated, 50% effaced, and Emma was at a -1 (0 is when she is level with my pelvis). So there is still no clear answer as to how close we are getting, but at leased there is some progress and she is moving lower!
They also told me that they would let me go 41 weeks before they would induce. I explained to them my concern of her being a big baby. Robert, myself, and our brother and sister all were 8lbs 6 ounces - 9lbs, 22 inch long babies. I am worried that if I go late, Emma could be a 10lb baby! The doctor seems to think that right now she is somewhere between the 6-7lb range and we shouldn't worry about having a 9-10lb baby! I know these measurements can be off, so I guess we will just have to wait and see.
The only other thing I was concerned about was that I measured the same as I did last week. (36 cm.) I'm hoping this is more of error in measurement and not that she has stopped growing. The doctor didn't seem to be too concerned about it and said that if I measure the same again next week, they will probably do an ultrasound to try and get a better idea of how big she is and what is going on. So I am anxiously awaiting our next appointment on Thursday!

Doctor Check Up

We had another great Doctor's appointment today. Heart beat strong, I am measuring right where I should down to the centimeter, and Emma's head is down. It looks like we are ready to go! Next week I will be considered full term, so the doctor's visits will also include checking to see if/how much I am dilated. Time is moving very quickly! I think I hope when it is time, my water just breaks. That way I know for sure it is time to go, and not just wondering if I'm really having contractions and if they are the right time apart!
I also took some pictures today of Emma's finished room. The only thing we have left to do is put up the permanent gate in the door way. That way we can keep the dogs out, but also keep her door open. Enjoy the pics!

I decided to take off the bumber because I didn't like not being able to see inside the crib from the door when it was on!

Happy Easter! (A Couple of Days Late)

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter! Ours was spent here at our house with my mom, grandma, and brother. In fact, it was the first holiday that we have ever had at our house! It was a nice and relaxing day. Mom and grandma hadn't seen Emma's room yet, so they were anxious to get a peak at it before she got here. I think they had more fun looking at all of her cloths! They couldn't believe how much stuff she had! I still need to take some pictures now that there are things are on the wall. I will try and do that tomorrow when we have some good sun light!

But back to Easter - We had yummy pancakes, egg casserole, potatoes, bacon, fruit, and muffins. We had enough food for 20 more people! I had every intention of taking pictures of our feast, but we were all so hungry and ready to eat, that I completely forgot. Emma also got her first Easter Egg! A lady that my mom works with made an egg for her! It was fun that she thought of her while coloring eggs!
It has her name on one side and Disney Princess stickers on the other!
I go back to the doctor tomorrow for my next weekly visit. I am anxious to see what they have to say. I want to know what position she is in. I try and feel, but have no idea. I am kind of thinking that she is sideways! I'll post the update after the visit!

I Think We Are Ready!

So the hospital bag is packed and the car seat is in the car, and sheets are on her bed! I can't believe that we only have 4 weeks left! This little one is going to be here before we know it. I am currently working on getting all of her cloths washed. It pretty much is taking me all day. She has so many cloths and so many different colors! I am worried that the colors are going to bleed on one another, so I am probably sorting more then I need to. I am sure once she is here and getting them dirty, I will get over that! After I get all of her cloths and blankets washed, I think I will move on to organizing the diaper bag and a couple of things in her room.
Robert also got the stroller put together. Last weekend was spent with both of us practicing folding and unfolding the stroller, and putting the car seat back and forth into the car. We thought better to work out the kinks now, instead of trying to do it when she is in them!
Doctor appointments are still going well. I am measuring right where I should, blood pressures have been fine, and her heart beat is always strong. I definitely feel like I am at the end. My feet are starting to swell and by the end of the work week they look pretty puffy! I am having some muscle pain and just kind of uncomfortable. I am still having my braxton-hicks contractions, so maybe this is all a sign that she will be here a little early. Who knows! I think I will give her one more week (so I hit the 37 week mark) and then I will be walking and doing squats as much as I can!
I go to the doctor weekly now, so I will let you know how we are progressing!

Baby Shower

On Saturday my mom and Shelly threw me a baby shower. They didn't leave out one detail. It was so much fun and so nice. I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen since we first found out that I was pregnant. Emma got tons of cute cloths, good books, and fun toys. It was a great shower.
Here are some of the fun details!
We had personalized water....

Personalized M&M's......
Even personalized pencils! (you may need to click on the picture to make it bigger)

This was my baby bonnet and rattle. Emma got her baby bonnet from my mom at the shower. I am going to have to bring it for her newborn pictures!

The guests got cute baby lollipops.

Getting ready for some games...

It's present time!

Just SOME of the cute cloths Emma got!

I was so excited and honored that Jessica wanted to make me one of her famous baby's first year scrapbook. It is the perfect size to highlight Emma's first year!
She will be one clean baby!
Flag Regan even made an appearance at the shower! (This is a school project for Jessica's cousin)
The two pregnant girls! This was the first shower that Jessica and I have been at together that we were the only pregnant girls.
Thanks mom and Shelly for a great shower!

Baby Invitations

I have been very busy getting invitations made for my friend Jessica's baby shower. She is due 2 weeks after me so it has been fun to be pregnant together. I can't wait for our little ones to meet and have play dates! Jessica got her invitation in the mail, so I can post pictures of how the came out.
