The Green Family: Pumpkins!

Thursday, my mom took the day off of work and we headed out to the Pumpkin and Chili Festival at Schnepf Farms. We thought since we we were going on a week day, we would basically have the place to ourselves. Well, we found out about 600 school kids were coming that day on field trips! Luckily, we learned that they would be leaving the farm around noon, so we delayed our trip by a couple of hours and had a great time roaming around an almost empty farm enjoying the beautiful weather.

They had a special performance of dogs catching frisbees. We thought she would love it since she loves dogs. I think she only loves dogs when they aren't running and jumping at her, along with flying frisbees!

I thought the pig races were pretty cute! The prize for the pigs were Oreo cookies!

She liked this area, and had no problem going up to the different animals until we came to a huge turkey. Then she decided she didn't like it so much. But as long as one of us held her, she was ok and even made the different animal noises.

Going through the kiddie maze. She was a head of us for a little while, and actually did pretty well choosing the right directions! They also have a huge corn field maze, but by the time we go to it, she was pretty tired, and we were worried how long it might take us to get through it!

We tried so hard to get her smiling for this picture! We should of known her tiredness in combination with the distraction of the kids playing on the playground, there was no way we were going to win that one!

We thought maybe she would go through the tunnel, but no such luck.

She didn't like these tires very much!

But she liked the bikes and the swing!

And she loved watching the carousel

Time for pumpkins. She thought she was going to hold this one!

But there was no time for sitting! She had pumpkins to find!

After we got her to sit on one, she decided that she had to go and sit on ALL the pumpkins. I think even a couple of time she said "cheese" after she sat on them. When we go to the baby pumpkins, she wasn't too happy that she couldn't sit on them!

These next ones have a little story. The pumpkins are out in a field where they also grow crops. So in certain areas, there are lips and dips (I don't know what to call them) of dirt. I am assuming they are for irrigation purposes. Some how Emma would get stuck in them and she would try and try to stand back up. It provided for some funny entertainment!
