Happy New Years!

2009 ended for us with a sick baby. Emma got her very first fever at 2:30 this morning. She only had one other fever this afternoon, and besides being tired and giving us extra snuggles, you wouldn't even know she didn't feel well.
We are going to watch her the next couple of days and hope that she doesn't get any new symptoms.
Hope everyone has a fun, safe New Years Eve, and a Happy New Year!

Christmas! - Lot's of Pictures!

We had a great first Christmas with Emma Grace. It was a busy couple of days and I think we all are still trying to catch up on sleep! Christmas came a little early for me when Robert surprised me with my new camera! I have been wanting a digital SLR for a couple of years now, and wasn't sure when I was going to be able to get one. Robert ignored the "budget Christmas" I thought we were doing and got me one. I was so excited when it got here the day before Christmas Eve so I could have it for all our Christmas pictures. I am also very lucky that Jessica was willing to share her photography class she took with me. It is going to take a lot of learning before I can change it from the automatic settings! Also because the camera is bigger, I have to do some different things to get photos posted to the blog. Because of this, I didn't post all the pics I wanted to....but don't worry, there is still a lot!

My new camera!

Christmas Eve we headed over to my mom's house for our traditional Mexican Feast. We were lucky enough this year that Jessica and Sophia came over to celebrate with us since Matt had to work. It was neat to see Emma and Sophia experiencing Christmas together. I think it should be a new tradition that Matt, Jessica, and Sophia always comes over Christmas Eve. I guess that means you can't move!!

The girls enjoying each others shoes!

Opening their first present! They got....

Matching pajamas from Jessica. They were so cute and it was such a good idea that Jessica had. Thanks for the pajamas Jessica!

Surrounded by paper.

Thanks Shelly for thinking of Emma. She loves her new toy!

Christmas morning we enjoyed a quick morning just the three of us opening presents. Emma and I had on our Christmas pajamas, and I am so sad I didn't get a picture of the two of us.

New books!

Excited to open presents....or rip paper!

New sorting blocks!

Her stocking was full of bath toys!

Checking out her new phone

Christmas morning we managed to see all three families, and ended the night at Robert's Dad's House where Emma was very smiley, we had fun playing croquet, and had a yummy turkey dinner with all the fixings!

Not quite sure who or what this look was to!

I hadn't played croquet since I was little. We had a lot of fun!

Even though the wrapper was still on, I think she was still able to get a taste of the Candy Cane

Silly girl!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas with the Browns

Today Emma and I headed over to Josh and Christine's so the kids could exchange their Christmas presents. Emma warmed up pretty quickly and after Aunt Christine told her there were diamonds in her present, she had no trouble opening her first Christmas present!

Anna and Aidan excited about their new books and toys

Starting to rip...

Excited to get that paper off! Aunt Christine and Uncle Josh got her the cutest outfit for winter, and another for summer!

Laughing at Aiden

Love that little wrinkled nose!

I think We Have Curls!

So now that Emma has more hair, her hair will get pretty curly after her baths. I tried leaving it curly, but when she woke up in the mornings it would be a huge frizzy mess.
This morning, I decided to play with it a little bit and put a little gel in it. When she woke up from her morning nap, I finger combed it, and the curls stayed. She has one huge curl right in the middle front that curls up and back. So I had to but the clip in it to try and tame that curl. I think she still needs to get more hair (not just on top) to start letting her hair go curly. She is always cute, but I think it looks a little funny to have a patch of curls just on the top of her head.
So until she decides to grow some hair all over, we will continue to straighten, but at least it is looking like curls are in our future!

Our Little Power Shopper

Today Emma and I met up with Amanda and Aidan for lunch and shopping. It was great to see Amanda and get caught up on everything with each other. And of course it was so cute to see Emma and Aidan together.
We started off our day with some lunch and Emma actually "talked" and smiled at Amanda and Aidan! Aidan would reach for Emma's hand and she would pull it away, then Emma would reach for Aidan's and he would pull away! It was so cute. Towards the end of lunch we had to get out some toys for them and Emma was not shy at all about taking Aidan's toy!
After lunch it was time to hit the mall, and both Amanda and I, thought the kids would pass out. Emma slept for maybe 5 minutes and then she was wide awake looking at everything. Aidan passed out for maybe 15 minutes towards the end. Even with lack of sleep both Emma and Aidan did great and it was fun day!
They were both so smiley, grabby, and talkative at lunch. As soon as the camera came out, they stopped. It was like they didn't want us to know they were having fun!
Mommies ready for shopping, and babies ready for sleep...or so we thought!
When we came home we had a nice surprise in the mail. Emma got her very own Christmas Card from Grandma. She loved to hold it, fold it, and eat it!

7 Months!

Another month has gone by and Emma Grace is now 7 months old! It is exciting, but also at the same time a little sad. We are excited for each new month that comes along and already planning her first birthday, but I also feel like each month that goes by is another step closer to the big year mark and she won't be a baby any more! I am sure this is going to be the same theme for the rest of her life. Before we know it she will be turning 5, 10, 16, etc and I will say "where did my little girl go!"
Just like all the months before, it has been another great month filled with exciting new things and challenges. Emma discovered just how fun water can be, and now takes her baths in the big bath tub where she can splash as much as she wants! We have gone from 3 naps a day to 2 naps. She will sleep from 10-11 in the morning, then 2-4 in the afternoon, and is usually ready for bed by 6:30 or 7. She has discovered lots of new foods, and we have just started adding "meat meals" to her veggies for dinner. She loves her teething biscuits, but isn't too sure about Gerber Puffs or any other food she has to pick up. She loves to drink your water, and we are still working on the sippy cup. She isn't showing much interest for being on her hands and knees, but can scoot all around, and is pretty good at reaching for things.
She continues to make us laugh every day and we just love her more and more!
And as always, here are a couple more of the photos from today!
Her new thing is to wrinkle her nose when she is really excited. Doesn't it kind of look like she is growling!?

Christmas Shopping

We have had a very busy and fun couple of days! Every year my mom and I take my grandma Christmas Shopping at the mall and of course Emma got to come with us this year! The plan was for all 4 of us to head out to Chandler Mall on Friday, and them mom, Emma, and I would head out Monday to Scottsdale. That trip was more to get some pictures of Emma with all the Christmas decorations then shopping, so we thought we would head out to Kierlands first. The weather yesterday was pretty rainy, windy, and cold, and since Kierlands in an outdoor shopping center, we decided it would be better to just go to Fashion Square.
Our shopping trips both days were very successful with good sales, deals, and all of our Christmas shopping is pretty much done. Emma also got to meet Santa for the first time. She actually did really well with him. She studied his suit, buttons, and fur. I think she would have sat there longer if I didn't take her! In the picture has a "deer in the head lights" expression. This is because the people that were taking the picture were clapping this loud, obnoxious clapper thing to get her attention. Oh well. It is still cute!
Christmas also came a little early for Emma this year. She got an exersaucer! Robert has been wanting to get one for her for a long time, and we headed out on Saturday to get it. She loves it and is having tons of fun with it!

More interested in the water fountain at Chandler Mall then looking at mom for a picture!

Again, the Pointsettas were much more interested then mommy with her camera!

In front of the Christmas Trees at Nordstroms. Even with all the people walking by, she actually gave a cute smile, but my camera was too slow and I missed it!

Some decorations around the mall

Having fun with her new toy!
