we had our first day with no accidents!! I decided last Wednesday to go for it and see how Emma did with potty training. We had LOTS of accidents that day, but I thought we had made some progress because when she had an accident she went from saying "what is that!?" to "I have to go pee-pee". The next day, we still had accidents, but also had some success. But by the end of the day, she was crying that she didn't want to wear underwear and wanted her diaper back on. I decided that night the we would go back to diapers and try again in a couple of weeks. Emma had different plans, and even though she was in a diaper, she would let me know when she needed to potty. We are doing a combination of pull ups and underwear. She wears her pull ups during nap (she is waking up dry) and when we are out of the house. We have been out of the house 3 times since we started, and all three times she has asked to go to the bathroom. The toilets are so big that she can't relax when she sits on them. So we haven't had any success while we are out, but she manages to stay dry and then goes when we get home. For the most part at home, I think it is pretty 50/50 on her telling me she has to go, and me just taking her in to try. I am cautiously optimistic that by the end of the week, we will be potty trained!!
We also have had another moment of realization that she is getting to be such a big girl. The other day when we went to get her out of her bed, she had one leg over the rail like she was about to climb out. The thought of getting her a "big girl bed" is definitely there. Whenever we ask her if she wants a big girl bed she always says "no, Emma has a bed". Sophia just got her big girl bed this weekend, so I am anxious for Emma to see it tomorrow night. That might help her get more excited about getting one also.
That's about it for the exciting news around here. Here are a couple of pics from the past week.
